Village Hall
Once a month, we bring in someone who does this for a living, hand them one topic, and give the rest of the hour to your questions. Online, recorded for everyone who registers, and priced so that nobody has to sit it out.
This is not the support group
Two different things, on purpose. The weekly support group is free, every week, and it’s parents sitting with parents — no expert, no lesson, nothing to prepare. Village Hall is a paid monthly class with a guest expert — one topic, taught, with real Q&A. Come to both, come to either, come to neither. Nothing on this site is ever behind Village Hall.

Village Hall: What Is DIR Floortime?

We’ll cover what DIR Floortime is, what a session looks like, which children it tends to suit, and how it compares to other approaches. Bring the questions you’ve been carrying around — the ones about your kid specifically, not the ones a brochure answers.

How it works

One hour, one topic
A guest presenter takes about half the hour, then the rest is Q&A. No panel, no sales pitch, no thirty-slide overview of a field you didn’t ask about.

You pick the topics
Members vote on what comes next, and the vote arrives in the monthly newsletter. Subjects rotate: parenting strategies, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech, AAC, IEPs and advocacy, funding — and whatever the group keeps asking about.

You get the recording either way
Register and the recording comes to you afterward, whether you make it live or not. Saturday mornings do not always cooperate.
What it costs
Pay what you can, per session. You pick your number when you register, and nobody sees it but us.
- $0 — no questions, no explanation needed. This tier is real, and it is used.
- $10 — helps.
- $20 — suggested. Covers your seat.
- $35 — covers yours and sponsors a seat for a family who picked $0.
Village Supporters at $10/month and up get every session included — that’s the voluntary monthly support described on the Support the village page. And Village Hall is free for current Little Luminaries families — if your child is on the caseload at Little Luminaries Therapy Services, register and pick $0.
Registering, and the recording rule
Register below and your confirmation and payment link arrive by email — there’s nothing to pay on this page. Everyone who registers gets the recording afterward, attend live or not.
The recording always stops before Q&A
The presentation is recorded. The question-and-answer half is not — the recording stops before it starts, every time, and we say so out loud at the beginning of every session. You should be able to ask about your actual child, your actual school district, and your actual bad month without wondering where the video ends up.
Save your seat
Registration closes nothing and commits you to nothing — if the day arrives and you can’t make it, the recording still comes to you.
Pick $0 if that’s where you are this month. It is the tier we most want people to use, and no one will ask you about it.
