The guides, directory, calendar, and parent programs cost nothing.
The ground rules for using Our Special Village, written the way we would explain them to a friend.
The guides, directory, calendar, and parent programs cost nothing.
We share what we have learned. Your child’s own team makes the call.
In groups, stories, and messages, treat every family the way you would want yours treated.
Our Special Village is owned and operated by Errant Software, LLC, in partnership with Little Luminaries Therapy Services, 1810 Ward Dr, Suite 101, Murfreesboro, TN 37129. When these terms say “we” or “us,” they mean Our Special Village and Errant Software, LLC.
These terms cover the website, the newsletter, the online parent support group, Village Hall, the Wall of Hope, and the forms on the site. By using any of them, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
What happens to the information you send us is explained on our Privacy page, which is part of these terms.
Our guides are written by parents and checked against official sources, but they are general information. They are not medical, legal, educational, financial, or therapy advice, and reading them does not make anyone your child’s provider, lawyer, or advocate. That includes guides written by Dr. Taylor Hickok, who is a speech-language pathologist.
Programs, laws, deadlines, and eligibility rules change, and every child is different. Before you make a decision, check the details with the agency, school, insurer, or professional involved. How we check information is explained in How We Check Information.
The site, forms, and email inbox are not watched for emergencies. If someone is in danger, call 911. For a mental health crisis, call or text 988. Our Urgent Help page lists more numbers.
A Resource Directory listing means a provider or program exists, serves the area, and had its details checked. A listing is free and is not a recommendation, endorsement, or guarantee. A Village Pick means local families have repeatedly recommended a provider from first-hand experience. It is still not a promise about the care your child will receive.
Providers, programs, businesses, and event hosts are independent of us. We do not control their services, prices, waitlists, safety, or quality, and we are not responsible for what happens between you and them. Please choose providers carefully and confirm details with them directly. Little Luminaries listings are marked as our affiliated practice.
Events on the calendar are run by their hosts unless we say otherwise. Times, prices, and details can change, so check with the host before you go.
We link to other websites when they help. Those sites have their own terms and privacy rules, and we are not responsible for their content.
Sponsors are always labeled. Sponsorship never affects whether or where a provider is listed, Village Pick status, or what our guides say.
Your story stays yours. When you send one, you give us permission to use it only in the ways you checked on the form:
We sign each story the way you chose: your first name and city, Anonymous, or a pseudonym. We may trim a story for length or clarity, and we confirm the final wording with you before it is posted. We may decline or remove any story.
Please share only what is yours to share. Send pictures you took or have the right to use, and only send a picture of a child if you are that child’s parent or guardian. Leave out anything you would not want public, like a school name, a last name, or medical records.
You can change your mind at any time. Email us and we will take your story or picture off the website. A newsletter that has already been sent cannot be called back.
The Wall of Hope is for your own family’s journey. It is not a place to review a provider, business, or person.
The online parent support group is peer support, not therapy or medical advice. By joining, you agree to the group agreements:
We cannot guarantee that everyone will keep things confidential, so share only what you are comfortable sharing. People in Tennessee still have a legal duty to report suspected child abuse or neglect. The host may remove anyone who makes the group unsafe or unkind.
At Village Hall, the guest expert’s lesson is recorded and sent to people who registered. The parent question time is not recorded. Guest experts share their own views, which are general information and not advice for your child, and featuring a guest is not an endorsement of their business.
Both meet on Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft’s terms apply during the call. We may change, reschedule, or cancel a meeting.
Newsletter: it is free, and every issue has a way to unsubscribe.
Giving: Our Special Village is run by a company, not a charity, so gifts are not tax-deductible as charitable contributions. Payments go through Stripe, a secure payment company, and Stripe’s terms apply at checkout. We never see or store your card number. Monthly support can be cancelled at any time and stops the next charge. If something went wrong with a payment, email us and we will make it right.
Sponsorship: the details of each sponsorship (placement, timing, renewal, and cancellation) are agreed in writing before payment. Sponsorship never buys a listing, a ranking, an endorsement, or favorable coverage.
Shop: the shop is coming soon. When it opens, orders, shipping, and returns will be handled by our shop provider, and its terms of sale will be shown when you check out.
The guides, artwork, illustrations, logo, and design of this site belong to Errant Software, LLC, or are used with permission. Directory facts come from providers and official sources, and Wall of Hope stories belong to the families who wrote them.
Please do share! You are welcome to send links, print guides for your own family, and share printed copies with your child’s school, therapists, or doctors, free of charge, as long as Our Special Village stays credited.
Please do not copy whole pages onto another website, sell our content, use our artwork, or use our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you. If you would like to use something in another way, email us and ask.
To keep the village safe and useful for everyone, please do not:
Forms are meant for adults 18 and older. We may remove anything sent to us and stop anyone from using our forms, groups, or events if these terms are broken.
No guarantees: we work hard to keep everything accurate and the site running, but the site and everything on it are provided “as is.” We cannot promise that every detail is complete, current, or error-free, or that the site will always be available. If you find a mistake, please tell us.
Limits on responsibility: to the fullest extent the law allows, Errant Software, LLC, Little Luminaries Therapy Services, and our volunteers are not responsible for any loss or harm that comes from using the site, relying on its information, or using a provider, program, event, or website we list or link to. Where the law does not allow these limits, they apply as far as the law allows.
Tennessee law: these terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts serving Rutherford County, Tennessee.
Changes: we may update these terms as the village grows. The newest version is always the one on this page, and using the site after a change means you accept it. If we make a big change, we will mention it in the newsletter.
Everything else: if any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If you have a question about anything here, we are happy to explain.
